Job Description

Located in the Department of Environmental Facilities - Various Locations: Under general supervision, incumbents of this class perform duties involving the operation of heavy equipment on public roads requiring possession of a Commercial Driver License (CDL-B). Incumbents may perform a wide variety of semi-skilled laboring tasks as well as routine assignments in various County departments in support of operations, maintenance, upkeep and repair in buildings, grounds, sewer systems, roads, parks, swimming pools and all other County facilities. Incumbents may also perform routine manual work in the control and distribution of supplies and equipment received, stored and issued, maintaining a variety of records and logs. Work assignments are verbal, in writing, in the form of standard operating procedures, or are sometimes independently selected and carried out by the incumbent. Supervision is not a responsibility of this class, but incumbents may act as a lead worker for the completion of assigned projects. Does related work as required.

Required

Possession of a valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License with required endorsements appropriate for the type of motor equipment being operated and either:

(a) a high school or equivalency diploma and one year experience doing manual work involving the operation of motor equipment; or

(b) three years of work experience doing manual work involving the operation of motor equipment.

Special Requirements

  1. Possess and maintain a valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License with required endorsements appropriate for the type of motor equipment being operated.

  2. Depending on work assignment, must meet standards of OSHA regulation(s) 1910.132-140 - Personal Protective Equipment, and will be required to meet Federal, State and local standards with respect to health and safety while in the title.

Job Description

Located in the Department of Corrections - Valhalla: Under general supervision, incumbents in this class perform professional psycho-social evaluation and treatment of individuals with behavioral health problems, serving as a member of a multi-disciplinary treatment team including psychiatrists, psychologists, psychiatric nurses and other support staff. This level is distinguished from the senior level in that the senior is expected to work more independently and handle more complex cases. Supervision is not a feature of this class; however, incumbents may provide leadership and guidance to student social workers. Does related work as required.

Possess and maintain a valid license and current registration as an LMSW or LCSW, or LMHC, issued by the New York State Department of Education.

Special Requirements

Must maintain license and registration as an LMSW, LCSW or LMHC, throughout the course of employment in this title.

Job Description

Located in the Department of Social Services - White Plains: Under general supervision, an incumbent of this class is responsible for all of the administrative processes involved in the development, control and management of contracts for services and/or equipment for a County department. Responsibilities include monitoring contract compliance with federal, state, and county regulations; analyzing existing operational needs and making recommendations on same; and supervising and/or preparing bid specifications and Requests for Proposals. Job Description

Located in the Department of Laboratories and Research - Valhalla: Under supervision of a higher level professional, an incumbent of this position is responsible for conducting various environmental organic chemical and physical analysis of water, wastewater, soil and other environmental samples. In addition, the incumbent is responsible for planning and coordinating the work of subordinate laboratory personnel performing these examinations to insure that all tests adhere to established quality control standards of proficiency. The incumbent must maintain a satisfactory rating of performance for those procedures for which approval has been granted to the laboratory by the New York State Department of Health. Acceptable professional environmental organic chemistry experience includes performance of volatile and/or semi-volatile analyses on water, wastewater and soils, utilizing gas chromatography, GC-Mass spectrometry, and high-pressure liquid chromatography in accordance with EPA methods and New York State Environmental Laboratory Approval Program (ELAP) protocols.

Job Description

Located in the Department of Environmental Facilities - Various Locations: Under general supervision, an incumbent of this foreman level position is responsible for planning and implementing an electrical maintenance and repair program. Responsibilities include supervising a staff, including at least one journeyman; inspecting facilities, planning and laying out work; and estimating materials and costs, including staffing requirements. Work is performed with considerable independence and in accordance with departmental protocols, procedures and trade standards including the National Electrical Code and OSHA. More complex jobs may require detailed instructions, blueprints or sketches from an engineer or technician. The incumbent is fully proficient in the skills and practices of the trade, with full knowledge of the principles, tools and techniques. The difference between this foreman level position and that of the journeyman is that the foreman supervises at least one journeyman electrician and may supervise a number of lower level full time, seasonal and temporary personnel. Performs related work as required.

Required

Possession of a current electrician’s license to work in Westchester County.

  1. Licensure must be maintained throughout employment.

  2. Possession of driver’s license valid for operating a motor vehicle in New York State. Depending on work assignment, may be required to possess a CDL license.
